🐂Hey Bull City! Your Durham Explorer here. As 2022 comes to an end, I had to end this year’s Plaza Project with a bang, Ninth Street.
For the past few weeks, I have been exploring and rediscovering 9th St., and wow, there was a lot in just a few block radius. 9th St has over 45+ Locally Owned Businesses, and a number of these businesses have been around for over 25, 30, 45, and even 75+ years! That is unbelieveaBULL! I am excited to share with you what I have explored.
I first want to give a disclaimer that I may have accidentally left out a business due to time constraints or not being aware of the business. Also, the Hours of Operation for each business may vary due to the Holidays. Please feel free to put in the comments below what business I haven’t checked out. I have a feeling I’ll continue to explore all the nooks and crannies of 9th St.
💈Arrow Barbering Co. Pedro Williams
Pedro Williams always wanted to open a Barbershop here in the United States. With a little push from his friend, Pedro partnered with Arrow Barbering Co. to create Pedro Williams Barbershop on 9th St. Check out their website to find out who is Pedro Williams. Lynn Magikcraft Swain, is an International Psychic, Medium, and Healer. With a family legacy of 7-8 generations of extraordinary practitioners of the craft, Lynn worked incredibly hard to open up her first brick-and-mortar in 2016. Cosmic Cantina is a hole-in-the-wall place to get the best Mexican food on the planet. Not only are they the best place to grab food in the middle of the night, but they also host Cilantro Artisans Food Salsa that compliments everything Cosmic Cantina makes. Hours of Operation: MON-SUN 11 AM-4 AM.

Open since 1997, Blue Corn Café has provided Durham with Latin American Dishes using locally sourced foods.
